Principles of cold-working

I think for me, the greatest exercise in cold-working has been learning patience — really committing to every step of the process. You can see from the first few photos how important the initial grind is. Glass remembers everything. If scratches are there in the beginning, they won’t magically disappear during polishing. You have to remove them from the start.

Celeste and Chris have completely demystified the process for me:
220 to shape → 400 → 600 → polish
or PBR (purple, brown, red) + cerium if you’re lucky enough to have a magnetic wheel ⚡️

This piece was recycled from the bin. I lens-cut it on a 220 V-wheel, then ground and polished it into an eye 👁️

PS: Sorry clients… polishing takes at least 1.5–2 hours per piece. No shortcuts, no magic tricks 😅☀️
